To cross the Russian border, an up-to-date passport is required: just having it is not enough. There are several ways to check a document for validity.
For what purpose is a validation required?
Invalidity of the passport can lead to disruption of the trip. Its condition should be checked in advance - at the stage of preparation for departure.
Only a valid document allows:
- Request a visa from the country where you plan to enter;
- Purchase air tickets;
- Check in at the airport;
- Bypass customs control both in the country of departure and on the territory of the host country.

- The state of the passport;

Signs by which invalid passports are detected:
- The document has expired (5 years for old samples and 10 years for documents with biometric information);

- The integrity of the pages is violated (breaks);
- Information about the citizen has changed (change of surname in connection with marriage);

- Stamps and marks are placed in the wrong places of the document, where they should be.

What are the consequences of invalidity
