A patent - a permit to work in the Russian Federation for migrants - is issued for a period of one month to a year. When paying tax contributions, a short-term patent is automatically renewed, but a document that is valid for a year must be reissued once.
Sample application
The employer prepares the application. It should contain information:
- On the previously issued work permit;
- Information about the employer (exact name, details, actual, legal address);
- Employment contract details;
- Personal data of a foreign worker, his specialty;
- Place of issue of the reissued patent.
Completing the sample is not the responsibility of the migrant. The form is signed by the head of the organization.
How to make an application
The document is drawn up on the company's letterhead or on a sheet in free form in hard copy. At least 10 working days before the expiration of a work permit, a foreign citizen submits it and a full package of papers to the nearest branch of the GUMV Ministry of Internal Affairs.

- Temporary registration;
- Confirmation of knowledge of the Russian language;
- Medical examination certificate;

- Medical policy.

Grounds for refusal
An FMS specialist may refuse to renew in the following cases:
- Lack of references and gross errors in them;
- Personal income tax was not paid;
- The applicant has changed the region of work;
- Identified work in a specialty not specified in the permit;
- The period of validity of the work permit has expired.
You can apply again for the opportunity to work in Russia after a refusal in a year.
A patent extended once can be reissued again. To do this, you need to leave Russia and again collect a complete list of documents. If a foreigner was recognized as a refugee or issued a residence permit, then you do not need to re-receive the paper.
