The Spanish government said that from July, citizens of other countries will be able to relax on local beaches. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez officially announced that the country is “one step away from defeating Covid-19” and is ready to receive foreign tourists, but subject to all preventive measures.

At the same time, the politician did not specify the citizens from which countries would be allowed to enter Spain. Although earlier local authorities said that they would only accept EU citizens. Also, all foreign travelers upon arrival in the country must adhere to a two-week observation - this was announced by Transport Minister Jose Luis Abalos.

To reduce the likelihood of contracting Covid-19, the Spanish authorities decided to limit the stay of citizens on the beaches to 4 hours. To implement this innovation, special time sensors will be used.

The devices will be installed on lampposts and will record visitors passing to the sea, and then inform travelers through an application in a smartphone which beaches are the most loaded. In this case, tourists can go to a free beach or urgently change their plans and come to sunbathe a little later.

In addition to the time limit, local beaches will be divided into several zones: age groups, friendships and family groups. The measure is necessary, but such an innovation can reduce the number of tourists by 90%, since in order to get to the sea or to the restroom, tourists will constantly have to move along specially designated passages.

At the same time, it is forbidden to book seats in advance, and sun loungers will be allowed to be installed with a distance of two meters.
Let's remind that tourism is the main branch of the Spanish economy, which brings 12% of the country's income. However, in 2021, due to the pandemic, the country's economy may shrink from 6.8% to 12.4%.
