The Closed City opened to tourists on May 1, the Associated Press reported on Friday. The Moscow portal INTERFAX.RU also wrote about this.

The Forbidden City is considered one of the most significant landmarks of the capital of China. It stopped functioning at the end of January due to the spread of coronavirus infection.

However, now the Forbidden City, which is an open-air museum, does not work as it used to. Some changes have been made to the operating mode. For example, due to the global situation, it is now allowed to enter only 5 thousand guests per day. Previously, this figure reached 80 thousand visitors.

The Forbidden City is popular with tourists. Almost 7 million people visit it annually. In 1987, this landmark was included by UNESCO in the list of cultural heritage of mankind.

Other attractions were opened for visitors, which include various parks and museums. However, they have similar rules. For security reasons, only 30% of the previous number of guests will be allowed into these public places.

Recently, the State Committee for Health of the PRC made a statement that in mainland China over the past day, doctors registered only 12 new cases of coronavirus infection. 6 people came to China from abroad, and the rest were in the country.

Currently, there is a positive trend in the coronavirus in China. During the day, not a single lethal outcome was recorded due to complications of this disease.

In China, the coronavirus infection spread in December. In total, 82,874 cases were recorded in the country. 1,670 cases were brought in from overseas. Complications arose in 4633 patients, due to which the disease was fatal for them.

Outside the mainland of China, there have been no new infected patients for 5 days in a row. The lethal outcome was also not recorded during this time. 3 districts in China have reported 1,551 cases since December 2021. The data on them are as follows:

  • Hong Kong - 1,037 people (4 of them died);
  • Taiwan - 429 people (of which 6 people died);
  • Macau - 45 people.

Gradually, the harsh measures taken due to the spread of COVID-19 are weakening. Life is returning to its former course, which cannot but be encouraging.
