One of the important preventive measures against the spread of coronavirus is compliance with hygienic rules: wearing personal protective equipment (protective masks, respirators, gloves), compliance with a distance mode - 1.5-2 meters from others and home self-isolation. Since the beginning of the introduction of quarantine in Russia, all of the above precautions have been classified exclusively as recommendations to the population from local authorities and law enforcement agencies.

Mandatory observance of preventive measures, including the wearing of protective masks, will be introduced in the Moscow region on May 12. The information was provided by the operational headquarters of the region for the control and monitoring of the situation with Covid-19.

Until the above date, Russians are strongly advised to wear personal protective equipment in public places: grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, as well as on the territory of institutions that continue to work, in public transport and taxis.

The local authorities will control at the regional level that all pharmacies in the Moscow region have a sufficient number of protective masks and other protective equipment to meet the needs of the population. At the same time, the prices for medical devices will be regulated by the authorities. Restrictions will apply only to respirators, masks, gauze, medical gloves and medical protection kits.

Forced measures were taken by officials due to the massive spread of coronavirus infection in the Moscow region: 12,507 cases of the disease were recorded there, of which 109 were deaths, and 458 Russians recovered.

Recall that mass public events in the Moscow region were banned from March 13, and the self-isolation regime was introduced on March 29.
