Denmark is part of the Schengen zone, to which Russians and Belarusians need a visa to enter. Obtaining a Danish visa has its own peculiarities: applications are processed quickly enough and without delays, but the requirements for documents are strict, they should not be violated in order to avoid refusal.

Categories of visas for travel to Denmark

Danish visas fall into two main categories:

  1. Schengen;
  2. National.

For convenience, you can separate them in another way:

  • Ordinary Schengen;
  • Resident card.

Schengen visa suitable for private visits (meeting with friends and acquaintances, property management in Denmark, business meetings and tourism).

For work, study, as well as living in the country with a spouse or other relatives, a residence permit is required.

Another type of visa is transit. If the traveler travels to any of the Schengen countries, the transit visa will be from that state.

Where to get a visa

There are several ways to obtain a Danish visa:

  1. Most often it is received through a specialized visa center with a preliminary registration on the website;
  2. An inexpensive but rather complicated way of registration is to apply directly to the embassy or consulate of Denmark, independently preparing the documents;
  3. A tourist visa can be obtained with the help of a travel agency accredited by the embassy and other intermediaries, by paying a commission for assistance in preparing the documents.

Copenhagen Top Travel Destination in the World in 2021 by Travel Guide Publishers Lonely planet, will be issued according to general rules, but getting it is somewhat easier (the exact address of the tourist's stay gives the immigration service more guarantees of compliance with the rules of stay in the country).

Self-registration

There are Russian branches of VFS Global visa centers in the capital, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and other cities. The algorithm for working with them is as follows:

  1. Find out what type of visa is needed;
  2. Clarify the list of documents;
  3. Collect documents;
  4. Go to the site, make a note about the filing of papers;
  5. Visit the center during business hours;
  6. Pay fees;
  7. Pass the fingerprinting procedure;
  8. Submit documents.

Visa processing through the consulate is carried out according to the same rules, by appointment. It can be successful for experienced travelers who have repeatedly gone through all the stages of the document preparation process, are ready to independently check their compliance with the requirements of the Schengen agreements and the country's legislation.

The queues at the Danish embassy are usually small. The main thing is that the documents do not contain false information and missing important papers. There is no service charge in this case.

Documents for a visa

The list of documents is approved by the country's immigration law. The main list includes:

  • Application form to be filled out in English according to a strictly defined form;
  • Two photographs that meet the requirements of immigration laws (light background, only the face in the photo, size 3.5 x 4.5 centimeters);
  • A copy of the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation (all pages where there is information);
  • A valid passport (the expiration date must meet certain requirements: three months or more from the moment you leave the Schengen area);
  • Additionally, photocopies of all pages of the passport are provided, where there is the necessary information;
  • Main page with information about the applicant and his photograph, copies of pages where the dates of entry and exit are marked;
  • Old passports;
  • A document confirming the fact of payment of the consular fee;
  • Document confirming the payment of the service fee (when working with the visa center);
  • Medical insurance.

Rules for filling out the questionnaire

An application for a visa to Denmark is filled out in English separately for each applicant (and for each of the minor children).

It is desirable to fill it in block letters for greater clarity, but written letters are also allowed, this is not a mistake.

In separate columns, the surname (or all the surnames that a person has ever bore), first name, patronymic, gender, date of birth and other data are indicated.

In the questionnaire, it is necessary to indicate completely and without errors:

  • Data relating to all documents that are required on the trip;
  • Job data;
  • The purpose of the trip;
  • The details of the receiving party.

After completing the questionnaire, you must check the presence of all signatures. Minors cannot sign the questionnaire themselves, therefore the right to sign is given to parents, guardians, and other authorized persons.

Complementary list

To obtain a tourist visa, you must provide:

  • Travel route (description);
  • Round-trip tickets for airplane or other transport (reservation indicating the date of return);
  • Documents confirming the availability of housing for the entire period of stay in Denmark (hotel reservation or private apartment rental agreement).

Proofs of the tourist's financial solvency will also be required:

  • A certificate from work, signed by the manager and certified by a seal, containing data on the amount of salary, vacation time and guarantees of preserving the applicant's workplace;
  • Statement from the bank on the state of the current account (fifty euros per day) and on the movement of funds in the last three months;
  • Sponsorship letter with proof of solvency of the person paying for the trip;
  • Documents for real estate owned by the applicant;
  • IP certificate;
  • Extract from the tax register;
  • Help 3 personal income tax.

A business visa is issued by the migration service after an invitation has been submitted from a Danish partner. This package of documents must contain detailed information about the inviting party.

If the reason for traveling to the country is an invitation from a citizen of Denmark or a person holding a residence permit, the package of necessary documents includes an invitation with information about the purpose of the trip, as well as documents confirming the financial viability of the inviting person and the legality of his stay in the country.

For children and retirees

  • The visa is given to the child after the presentation of the birth certificate, if it is issued separately, copies of the parents' visas will also be required;
  • If a minor travels with one of the parents or without an accompanying person, it will be necessary to provide the immigration service with a notarized document confirming the consent of one (or both) parents to travel;
  • If it is not possible to obtain a power of attorney from one of the parents, the package of documents must contain a document from the guardianship authorities confirming this fact;
  • If the parent is raising the child on his own, and the other party does not have parental rights to him, the package must contain a supporting document.

When receiving a visa to Denmark, pensioners must provide proof of their financial solvency (certificate of the amount of pension for the last six months). A letter from the Russian sponsor of the trip or an invitation from Denmark with appropriate guarantees is also possible.

For motorists

Those who are going to travel in Denmark by car need three main documents:

  1. Certificate of registration (copy) together with a copy of the STS;
  2. A copy of the driver's license (such copies will be required not only for the driver himself, but also for all passengers);
  3. Copy of the Green Card.

Fingerprinting and medical examination

Fingerprinting is a must for everyone. It takes place at the visa center or embassy (consulate) simultaneously with the submission of documents. Fingerprints are valid for five years. Children under twelve years of age do not need fingerprinting.

Medical examination is required only when applying for a residence permit. It is carried out in medical centers, the addresses of which are provided by the embassy.

Terms of registration

Documents for a visa to Denmark are submitted to the embassy (consulate) or visa center closest to the applicant's place of permanent residence. In Moscow, they are processed faster; a visa can be obtained in a few days.

Applications from the regions are sent by mail to the embassy, so the deadline here is even longer. The waiting time can range from several days to several months. The embassy sends an application to the Danish Immigration Service if necessary. In this case, the period for its consideration takes approximately eight weeks.

If a Danish visa is made independently through an embassy or consulate, it is almost impossible to control the process. All that remains is to wait for a call from the migration service. Its employees are quite punctual and the consideration of documents is usually not delayed without a good reason.

Documents pass through a specialized visa center according to a worked out scheme, their progress can be tracked through a special form on the website of the visa center (checked by the number of the receipt or contract).

How to get documents

A passport with a visa is not sent by mail, you need to come to the embassy or visa center for it. The Visa Application Center can deliver your passport by courier. If a visa for a specific trip is not received on time, most of the documents will have to be processed again.

Visa cost

The consular fee when applying for a Schengen visa category "C" is a fixed amount (thirty-five euros). If the service is provided urgently, its cost is seventy euros.

Service fee - from 1250 rubles.

For children under six years of age, the consular service issues a visa for free. Registration of a residence permit in Denmark costs 8.5 thousand rubles.

Validity of a Danish visa

Tourist visa "C" is first issued for the duration of a specific trip, then it is possible to obtain a visa for six months. A residence permit is issued for a year.

An applicant applying for a visa for the first time can only count on a short-term visa. With several Schengen stamps and without violating immigration laws, you can apply for a multivisa, and the issue is always resolved individually.

The Danish Embassy issues visas to Russians for the shortest possible period. The renewal of the residence permit is carried out annually at the Danish Immigration Office.

Reasons for refusal

Denmark's immigration policy is becoming more and more strict. Refusal to apply for a visa to this country is not uncommon.

The reasons for it may be a misunderstanding of the rules and non-observance of instructions, as well as:

  • Violation of migration legislation during the period of validity of previous visas;
  • Financial insolvency;
  • Violation of the rules for filing an application;
  • Poor document quality.

Ultimately, if the embassy staff are given sufficient reason to be sure that the applicant has strong ties to his homeland and does not attempt to stay in Denmark illegally, the visa will most likely be issued.

Reviews

Daniil, 25 years old, Moscow:The line at the embassy took the whole day. At first they said that today they could issue a ticket for tomorrow, but then they accepted it, quickly looked through the documents and said that they would call for an additional conversation. As a result, two weeks later they were given a visa without any conversations.

Marina, 33 years old, St. Petersburg:After several travels in Europe (Germany, France) my husband and I decided to go to Denmark. They signed us up by phone for free, the documents were accepted immediately, two days later they told us again by phone how long to wait for receiving a passport with a visa. On the day of receiving the visa, I came early in the morning, getting ready to stand in a long line, but there was no one there but me. The staff are friendly.

Olga, 48 years old, Krasnodar:I was going to go to Denmark for the wedding of my niece, began to collect documents, signed up at the visa center. There I was told that with my salary and relatives in Denmark, who do not pay for anything, there is nothing to hope for. The young people had no time for me, they didn’t issue an invitation, and I didn’t go to Europe.

Igor, 36 years old, Novosibirsk:For the last five years I have traveled a lot, finally decided to visit Denmark and asked for a multivisa. The service center encouraged me, but the embassy refused (we are traveling with the child).

Obtaining a visa to Denmark can be complicated due to the need to verify information or lack of documents. Even if each document is carefully checked before submitting it to the embassy, you should not be sure in advance of the result and purchase tickets for a specific date before obtaining a visa. You can get to Denmark with a Schengen visa issued in another state (Hungary, Spain). At the same time, you can stay in the country for less than half of the time for which the visa was issued: most of it must be spent in the country that issued the Schengen.
