Photo requirements for registration of a children's passport

A photo of a child receiving a passport has its own specifics of creation. Since you often have to take pictures at home, the absence of a specialist should be compensated for by your own sufficient knowledge of all the nuances in this area.

At what age can a child receive a passport

Russian legislation (Government Decree No. 828 of July 8, 1997, FMS Order No. 391 of November 30, 2012) does not establish a lower limit. There is only a selection of three age categories (from birth to 12 years old, 12-14, 14-18), for which uniform requirements for creating a photograph are defined.

General photo requirements

In addition to the difference in the required number of pictures, there are no differences in creating a photo of a child for an old-style passport and a picture for a biometric passport.

Dimensions:

• Height Width - 4.5 / 3.5 cm;
• The head takes 2.9-3.4 cm in the vertical plane;
• Between the crown and the top edge of the photo - 0.3-0.5 cm.

Oval shading of the image in the lower part of the picture is not allowed (except for cases when a child's photo has to be pasted into the passport of one of the parents). The paper should be matte. Colored (24 bit) or black and white (8 bit) gamma. Light homogeneous background. Saving photos on electronic media (if necessary) in formats JPEG, PNG, BMP (size 10 KB - 5 MB).

For an old-style passport, you should prepare 4 pictures... For a biometric passport, you need 1 self-made picture. It is pasted into the questionnaire filled out when applying for a document at the department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. For the passport itself, a photo is made by an employee of the site.

What is unacceptable in the photo

Details, the presence of which rejects the picture:

• Headwear, toys, foreign objects in the mouth. Ruffles and frills on clothes are allowed in small quantities;
• Dark glasses (it is possible that there are transparent, non-reflective glasses or contact lenses);
• Closed or slanted eyes, open mouth, grimaces;
• Tilt or turn of the head (the face is depicted only from the front);
• Full or partial (fragments of hands, face, torso) the presence of unauthorized persons;
• Shadows on the face.

If you need to photograph a small child who is not aware of the seriousness of the enterprise, you should resort to certain tricks.

How to shoot a baby

When creating a photo of a baby for a passport at home, it is better to act together:

1. The infant should be laid on its back in the crib with a small pillow (10-15 cm thick) under the head. Full swaddling is effective for added comfort. Bed linen color - white, light beige, no pattern;
2. After fixing the baby in the desired position, one of the adults picks up a prepared camera (modes "Portrait" or "Moving objects" (for maximum clarity), disabled flash), the other - the child's favorite toy;
3. Having placed the camera strictly opposite the face of the person being photographed (the lens looks downward, the distance is not more than a meter), you should slowly bring the toy close to the device, thus transferring the child's gaze to the correct (frontal) position, and then press the camera trigger.

The work should be carried out in an extremely calm and comfortable environment (you cannot amuse, scold the child or tire him with monotonous actions).

If the shooting is carried out in the department of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs by an employee in a special booth, one of the adults sits down or lies on the floor, holding the child above him (one hand is under the buttocks, the other is behind the neck).

The second adult talks to the child in a soothing tone and, if it is stuffy in the booth, periodically fanns him with a sheet of paper (you can use a pocket fan or just blow in the direction of the baby's face). With the consent of the department employee, a toy should be used to attract the attention of the person being photographed.

Shooting in a photo studio allows for both options.

How to photograph children 3-5 years old

Children, who are often filmed with a photo or video camera, can easily and with pleasure transfer the photo session for a document. During the shooting, it is useful to invite a stranger into the house - with him the child will behave more seriously. It is better to shoot in the morning (good sunlight and a neutral emotional state of the child).

Do not use unusual or uncomfortable clothes as a child's outfit. It is better to hold a session unexpectedly before a meal, when the child sits in place waiting for a treat (you should arrange the necessary background in advance (a light flat surface without foreign objects) and light (choose a sunny day)).

Shooting should be done according to the usual rules:

• Camera at eye level;
• 2-5 meters to the object;
• Attachment to a tripod or stand.

The child has grown and changed - what to do

If there is no desire to replace the foreign passport before its expiration date (old-style document is valid 5 years, new - 10), you can obtain from a notary (in the notary chamber) a certificate of the identity of the citizen with the person depicted in the photograph (placed in the passport).

This certificate, which does not have an expiration date, is best obtained immediately after issuing a passport.

It is possible to purchase a new passport due to a change in the owner's appearance (you will have to make every 2-3 years).

The applicant must submit an application to the department of the GUFM of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (paper or electronic form), presenting a set of documents:

1. Birth certificate (from 14 years old - passport);
2. Photos (standard number);
3. Passport of one of the parents;
4. Receipt for payment of state duty for a passport (1000 p. - for the old one, 2500 r... - for a new type of document; faces over 14 years old pay accordingly 2000 and 5000 rubles);
5. The document to be replaced.

Can I take a photo online

The use of network services that produce photography is possible if there are two technological elements:

2. A high-definition webcam (above 5 megapixels).
