In Thailand, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports wants to ask the Prime Minister to start raising domestic tourism in areas where COVID-19 has not been reported in the past 21 days, the Bangkok Post reports.

At least partial resumption of activity will allow tour operators to revive their business and avoid job cuts.
According to Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, it is planned that in 2021, local holidaymakers will make 100 million trips around the country. In the first quarter of this year, 24,100,000 trips took place, and for the entire 2021 - 80,000,000.

Since the external communication is closed, it is possible to direct all efforts to strengthen the internal market. Phiphat predicts the return of foreign visitors closer to October, after the opening of the borders, Thailand is expected to receive about a million visitors a month.
