The popularity of the Crimean resorts is growing every year. But, despite the small area of the peninsula, recreation in its different areas has serious differences.
South coast
Most tourists tend to rest on the South Coast of Crimea, as warm, sunny weather prevails here. People who come on vacation can not only sunbathe on the beach all day, but also stroll through the picturesque parks and coniferous alleys. The darkness of the nights is dispelled by the sparkling lights of bars and discos. The gentle climate and sea air of Crimea bring great health benefits, so there are many boarding houses and sanatoriums.
However, the excessive popularity of South Shore holidays has its negative sides. There are always a lot of people here, which is unlikely to cause positive emotions in lovers of peace and quiet.
The main disadvantage of the South Shore is the cool water. Due to the cold currents, its temperature does not exceed 18-20 degrees.
Eastern Crimea
The resort centers of the Eastern Crimea are very famous. Koktebel is especially rich in cultural traditions, which fans of Russian poetry associate with the names of Maximilian Voloshin and Marina Tsvetaeva.
However, upon closer acquaintance, Eastern Crimea is not at all as good as romantic tourists think. It is a steppe landscape scorched by the merciless southern sun. But there are many long sandy beaches, similar to the ocean, and you can swim from mid-June.
Holidays on the coast of the Eastern Crimea are quite economical: the infrastructure is well developed here, many houses are rented out during the holiday season, and the market stalls are heaped with fruits. But, unlike the South Coast, there is absolutely nothing to do in this half except for a beach holiday: there are no scenic walks or nightlife.
Western Crimea
The western part stretches from Sevastopol to Evpatoria. As in other parts of the peninsula, there are many beaches here - both comfortable and crowded, and wild, almost deserted. For a long time, Western Crimea was a closed zone, so comfortable conditions for recreation have not yet been created here.
