Indian Government Launches Portal for Trapped Foreign Citizens

On March 31, 2021, the Ministry of Tourism of India launched a web portal that helps to contact foreign nationals stranded in India due to the blockage.

The official release says “Stranded in India is a portal to disseminate information about services that can be used by foreign tourists stranded far from their homeland. The portal is intended to act as a support for foreign tourists stranded in various parts of the country. ”

The portal, strandedinindia.com lists the Covid-19 helpline numbers or call centers that foreign tourists can turn to for help, as well as comprehensive information about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Control Center and contact numbers.

In addition, it provides detailed information on the state / regional tourism support infrastructure. This unique portal also helps those in need of additional information and connects foreign tourists with interested authorities.

On the web portal, there is also the Government of India is launching a portal for trapped foreign citizens, a section where foreign nationals need to fill out an online form with detailed information about their last point of travel, the place where they got stuck in the country, with their contact details.
