In Poland, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the flight ban has been officially extended. Air services in the country will not be operated until at least 23 May inclusive. This decision was agreed by members of the government and signed by the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki.

The duration of the previous ban on flights was in effect in the country until May 10, but the unfavorable epidemiological situation forced the Polish authorities to extend the ban almost until the end of the last spring month. At the same time, some flights in the country will still be operated, but they must be sanctioned by the government. In addition, the country's air borders will be open to foreign air carriers in order to return foreign citizens from Poland to their homeland.

As of mid-May, Poland continues to remain in an epidemic mode, which is associated with the unabated spread of the coronavirus. This regime implies the closure of national borders for the entry of foreign citizens. In addition, border control has been restored for people with Schengen passports, and any international air and rail passenger traffic has been temporarily suspended. Educational institutions, including kindergartens, schools and institutes, remain closed in the country. Beauty salons, hairdressers, entertainment centers, cafes and restaurants do not work.

The number of citizens infected with coronavirus infection continues to grow in the country, the number of which is gradually approaching sixteen thousand people. By May 10, 2021, 15 821 citizens infected with a dangerous disease were officially confirmed, of which 5 991 people managed to recover. 618 Polish citizens have died from complications caused by the coronavirus. Despite the fact that in recent days the increase in new cases of the disease has decreased slightly and the country has passed the peak of infection, the overall situation is still dangerous. On May 22, the Polish government will consider the likelihood of resuming international flights and gradually easing quarantine restrictions.
