The Vietnamese authorities extended the period of validity of special visas giving the right to stay in the country to all foreign citizens who entered the Republic after March 1. These people will be able to extend their stay in Vietnam until June 30, 2021. This was announced by the official representatives of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City.
No additional permits are required for foreign citizens to enter Vietnam, as confirmed by the government of the Republic. Thus, the country went to meet people who arrived in the state after the beginning of spring and who were delayed in the country due to the global pandemic of coronavirus infection.
“Taking into account the announced rules, further extension of tourist visas using the visa support of the embassy and the Consulates General will be terminated,” explained representatives of the Russian diplomatic mission.
The Consulate General of the Russian Federation also explained that foreign citizens who came to Vietnam before March 1 can count on the extension of tourist visas until June 30. At the same time, they need to provide evidence that it was impossible to leave the territory of the state for reasons of restrictive measures that became necessary due to the coronavirus. In most such cases, it is only necessary to confirm the fact that the borders of Vietnam or the state of which these people are citizens were closed - or remain so to this day.
To confirm the circumstances that did not allow to leave the territory of Vietnam on time, it is necessary to present an official note of the diplomatic mission to the local authorities. But citizens who arrived in the country after March 1, 2021, can safely leave it at any time, subject to the resumption of air communication with their homeland.
In the case of Russian citizens wishing to leave Vietnam, you should sign up for the passenger list on the official website of government services. After that, the diplomats will hand over the document to the workers of the migration service. Currently, employees of the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City recommend that all Russian citizens leave Vietnam as soon as possible and return to their homeland.
“We inform the Russians who are in Vietnam on a tourist visa and do not plan to return to their homeland that from now on, the extension of tourist visas will begin on the same terms as before. In other words, citizens need to contact travel companies for visa support. For all questions arising in connection with this, we recommend contacting the divisions of the migration department, ”reads the official document.
