Mallorca is one of the Spanish Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. It is thanks to its convenient geographical location, mild climate, rich flora and fauna that this tourist site is very popular with foreign travelers. However, the pandemic has made its own adjustments and many tourist sites in this country, like the "Big Island", stopped visiting foreign tourists due to quarantine.

At present, the first guests from Germany have begun to be received on the island. So far, only within the framework of the "pilot project" - the country is not yet ready for a massive influx of foreigners.

The Spanish authorities will not oblige foreign tourists to take a PCR test in their country. However, other verification conditions will be introduced.

For example, immediately after the flight, while still at the airport, citizens of other countries will undergo triple control:

  • visual control;
  • temperature control;
  • guests fill out a form, which must indicate if they have had a coronavirus before and data on their location in Spain.

But these are not all innovations. Local authorities have introduced mandatory compliance with some preventive measures from Covid-19 in local hotels and restaurants for travelers. The media called such innovations “extreme hygiene”.

For example, before visiting a restaurant, hotel guests need to wash their hands with soap, then treat with an antibacterial gel, and wash their face. And do not forget to put on a protective mask and gloves before going out.

But this is not enough to go out to drink coffee. Special devices were installed at the entrance to the restaurant: temperature sensors were installed in the lobby of the restaurant. The thermal camera scans the guests as they enter the restaurant through the sliding doors: if the visitor is healthy, the green light flashes, if the guest is ill, the red light.

“If an illness is detected, the visitor is not allowed to have breakfast and is immediately sent to the doctor,” Sergio Navarro, director of a hotel in Majorca, told CNN. Vacationers respect the changes and strictly adhere to the above rules.
