Every year more and more citizens of the former Soviet republics enter the territory of Poland in order to get a high-paying job. But not all labor migrants want and have the opportunity to move to another country permanently. For such applicants, shift work in Poland is suitable. It has a number of features, for example, a schedule with a certain number of working days and days off, the pay is higher than similar vacancies without a rotational schedule.

Features of the rotational work method

Rotational work provides for employment outside the place of residence of the employee. Quite often we are talking about periodic or seasonal vacancies, for example, at logging sites. The main feature of this form of work is to do the work without traveling home for some time.

The employee arrives at the facility and throughout the shift lives there, the breaks between the shifts serve as days off, at which time the employee is free to do whatever. Most often, the shift lasts two weeks, and the weekend also lasts the same amount. Sometimes working periods are up to 30 days, rarely 60.

Modern Polish legislation does not provide for rotational work for a period of more than 90 days, and also limits one shift to twelve hours so that workers can have full rest.

Rotational vacancies differ from business trips; employment will require a contract. It is allowed to involve an employee in work both at one facility, and at several, if they are located in the same locality or are parts of the same project.

The shift form of work remains attractive for migrants - it saves on accommodation and meals.

Types of watch work for men and women

There is an opinion that shift work is intended only for men, since it is associated with hard physical labor.

However, in Poland this form of workflow organization is used by companies operating in various directions. Working as a watch for women has ceased to be a rarity, now in Poland they offer:

  • seasonal gardening work: picking strawberries, work in the agricultural sector;
  • vacancies in the field of tourism: guides, translators, cleaners and waitresses in tourist complexes (work can be both during the tourist season and all year round);
  • production work: seamstresses, packers;
  • residential vacancies for medical personnel, mainly nurses.

Men also have a wide range of employment options. Drivers, builders, loaders, packers are employed on a rotational basis.

But there are specialties that are not related to physical work, for example, vacancies for software developers. Some companies prefer to look for IT specialists among Polish citizens and foreigners, in which case the duration of the shift can be up to two months.

Accommodation during the shift

Temporary work in Poland attracts foreigners with the loyal attitude of employers. It is rare to find standard jobs that provide housing and food. But for shift workers, this is the norm: work can be carried out at a facility separated from the social infrastructure, so the employer takes on the task of organizing normal living conditions.

Local hotels, hostels or special rotational settlements in rural areas can be used as places of temporary residence.

In Poland, unfortunately, there are dishonest employers, as well as people who separate Polish workers and foreigners: the latter may be provided with less comfortable living conditions.

To avoid such an unpleasant situation, you should agree in advance on all the details of the rotational work, go through all the items of the contract. It is desirable that the contract stipulates the employer's obligations for wages and housing. Only in this case, the employee will be able, if necessary, to declare a violation of rights.

How to get a job in Poland

When it comes to the legal nuances of employment, rotational work is no different from the standard five-day work schedule. A foreign citizen must not only have reasons for living or temporary stay in Poland, but also obtain a work permit in the country. It is issued on the basis of an application from the employer. This is the difficulty of finding a job for a citizen of another country.

Suppose there is a shift work for Ukrainians in Warsaw. Most likely, when seeking to hire foreigners, company representatives will turn to recruiting intermediaries. With their help, it is easier for job seekers to find an employer, but intermediary services are not free. One vacancy will cost an employee from $ 50 to $ 200, depending on the chosen company and the list of services.

Where to find a vacancy

You should start an independent job search on the Internet, you don't even need to know Polish. There are websites created specifically for the citizens of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Belarus. For example poland2day. Advertisements in Russian and Ukrainian are posted here, work is found in Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow and other cities.

On the jooble portal, vacancies are posted mainly by employers, it is possible to sort offers not only by specialties, but also by cities of interest.

We also recommend taking a look at the adzuna website, which is an interesting aggregator of vacancies from the entire Polish-speaking segment of the Internet, where average salaries are conveniently presented.

If the applicant is located in Poland, agencies can help him, for example, Flagma, OTTOworkfarce, Randstad, Ewl, Interkadra, as well as the Polish sites praca.gov.pl, praca.pl, jobs.pl, careerjet.pl.

Don't forget about the traditional job search - through newspapers. In Poland, there are the following printed publications with corresponding headings: Praca, GazetaWyborcza, Oferta. They print not only vacancies, but also offers from potential employees in the "Looking for a job" section. According to the workers themselves, the easiest way to find vacancies for general workers on watch is in the newspaper.

Documents required for work

For legal employment in Poland, you must apply for a work visa. Entry documents are divided into two types, depending on the length of stay.

A six-month D05 visa is issued (based on an oswiadczenie work invitation), which gives the opportunity to work 180 days a year, and a D06 voivodeship visa, which allows you to work for a whole year without leaving the country.

You can find out more information about obtaining a visa in the article "Working visa to Poland".

As for the invitations, a standard invitation will be enough for a six-month visa; the employer will issue it in 7-14 days. A longer relationship between the employer and the applicant may be based on a voivodeship invitation, which is more difficult to obtain, the processing time is from 15 to 30 days.

Any employer should be checked. This can be done through the unified state register - Glowny Urzad Statystyczny.

You will need a NIP or REGON, the numbers must be indicated on the form of an invitation to work.

In addition to the main document from the employer, when applying for a visa, a civil and foreign passport is presented, the applicant must take out insurance for 30 thousand euros. The insurance will cost approximately 1,000 rubles (coverage area - Schengen).

Payment for rotational work in Poland

Remuneration directly depends on the working conditions and the degree of qualifications of the employee.For example, work in Poland on a dump truck as a watch is hard physical labor, it can be paid in the amount of 15-20 zlotys per hour. The salary of welders varies from 14 to 17 zlotys per hour.

Considering that a shift lasts from 8 hours, then for one shift lasting 2 weeks, an employee will be able to earn at least one and a half thousand zlotys.

Drivers in Poland receive PLN 4,000, and on international flights the salary in 2021 reaches PLN 7,000.

Women working in low-skilled positions, for example, as a product packer, receive from PLN 10 per hour. Service personnel in cafes, tourist complexes, hotels can expect to be paid 15 zlotys per hour.

On the pros and cons of rotational work

Personnel working on a rotational basis in production can earn more than employees in similar specialties with a standard schedule. For example, the classic salary for a seamstress (with a standard schedule) is 10-12 zlotys, the employee will have to pay extra for housing and food. Working on a rotational basis, the seamstress receives from 13 zlotys per hour, and is also provided with housing and, possibly, food. Also, the watch makes it possible to have regular rest.

These job features are the main benefits for job seekers. Today the watch is available for both men and women. The latter can work as cleaners, sewing clothes or packaging finished products. It is possible to work without speaking Polish. It is common to work on a rotational basis for Belarusians without knowledge of the language.

Among the disadvantages of the rotational method is a difficult schedule: for two weeks or months, an employee is forced to work from 8 to 12 hours. Accommodation can be organized in a kind of hostel, food, unfortunately, is not always sufficient. If the work is associated with manual labor, the risk of injury cannot be excluded.

Most of the disadvantages can be neutralized by a competent attitude to the organization of the work process on the part of the employer.
