What kind of transport can be used

The distance from Berlin to Nuremberg is 450 km. You can get from one city to another by train, bus or plane with direct flights, no transfers.

The duration of the journey is 1 hour 15 minutes (from 85 €), by train express about 3 hours (from 30 €), by bus from 5 hours 15 minutes (from 18 €).

A trip by car, depending on the driver's qualifications, will take from 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 15 minutes with petrol costs from 43 €.

Travel by train

There is a direct train connection between Berlin and Nuremberg. Trains leave from Berlin Central Station (Berlin Hbf) and arrive at Nuremberg Central Station (Nürnberg Hbf). Trains run every hour from 04.30 to 19.30.

The duration of a trip on the Intercity-Express is from 2 hours 53 minutes to 3 hours 40 minutes. Tickets cost 120 euros, but when using special tariff plans, tickets can be purchased at a significant discount - for 29.9 or 79.9 €. The biggest discounts are valid for morning and evening flights.

Berlin's main railway station is located in the city center at Europaplatz, 1. It can be reached by city trains S-Bahn (S5, S7, S9, S75), by metro line U55 and by buses M41, M85, TXL, 120, 123 , 147, 240, 245, N20, N40 to the Hauptbahnhof stop.

You can choose a suitable flight and buy a ticket on the Deutsche Bahn website. To do this, you need to select the language of service on the Internet resource, enter data on the point of departure and destination, and determine the dates and number of passengers. The duration of the trip is from 5 hours 15 minutes to 7 hours. Buying tickets on the eve of the trip will cost you 20-46 €, with an advance reservation of 18-23 €.

There is also a direct flight to Nuremberg from Schönefeld Airport. The bus leaves daily at 21.45 and arrives in Nuremberg at 04.00. Tickets cost 23 €.

Also, direct flights depart at 21.00-22.00 from Südkreuz Bf, Alexanderplatz and S-Treptower Park stations.

The cost of transporting bicycles is 9 €. You will pay the same amount for oversized baggage weighing from 20 to 30 kg. Baby strollers and wheelchairs are transported free of charge but must be reserved in advance.

Flight by plane

Nonstop flights from Berlin to Nuremberg depart from Tegel Airport.

The airport is located 8 km from the city center in the Tegel region of the Reinickendorf administrative district. Metro and city trains do not go there.

The airport can be reached either by taxi (about 20 €) or by TXL express buses, which run non-stop from Alexanderplatz central square or from the Hauptbahnhof train station.

Buses run every 10 minutes from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm, the journey takes 30-40 minutes.

During the day, there are 4 Eurowings direct flights from Tegel Airport to Nuremberg: at 6.30, 10.10, 15.00 and 18.45. The flight lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Prices for tickets in economy class from 70 to 133 €, in business class from 359 €. If you book in advance, you can buy a ticket for as little as 30 euros.

The plane arrives at the Nuremberg airport. You can get from the airport to the city by metro (line U2), by buses 32 and 33, or by taxi (about 15 €).

Travel by car

The most convenient route to travel to Nuremberg by car is along the A9 motorway. This is a comfortable Autobahn with an average speed of 130 km / h. Every 50-70 km on the highway there are rest points with gas stations, shops and cafes, so a trip to Nuremberg by car will not be tiresome even for an inexperienced driver.

You can take the A9 motorway by following the A115 and A10 roads.
