The problem of infertility is one of the most pressing issues of modern medicine in some regions of the planet. In search of the optimal solution, many couples are ready to try all the methods, willingly agreeing to an IVF procedure in Poland. And it should be said that this is not done in vain, since in vitro fertilization has been carried out here for a long time at a high level, giving positive results after the first attempt. How to organize a trip, what is needed for this and where it is better to apply, we will figure it out in stages.

Why Poland

The IVF procedure is an artificial fertilization of eggs in the laboratory and their transfer to the woman's body for further independent development.

As an assistive technology of the reproductive process, this type of conception is widely used in many developed countries. It is carried out in a specialized clinic after all the necessary examinations. The technique is used in the event that all other methods of fertilization were ineffective.

Poland in solving this issue is the best option for Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians. The most significant factor in making a decision is territorial proximity. But this argument is not the only one when it is necessary to make a choice in favor of a particular country.

So why Poland:

  • all centers and clinics of reproductive gynecology are distinguished by a high level of patient service and specialist qualifications.
  • compliance with the quality standards of procedures adopted in Europe;
  • acceptable cost of artificial insemination, which is several times lower than in other European countries;
  • the proximity of the linguistic environment. The Polish language is quite understandable to our compatriots. In addition, the staff of the centers speaks English, and in some cases also Russian;
  • application of advanced technologies that appear in European medicine.

Good reviews and ratings of Reproduction Centers play an important role in decision-making by many couples.

When IVF is indicated

Fertilization of eggs in laboratory conditions is not carried out in all cases. For the procedure to become possible, it is necessary to have certain indications. There are a number of diseases that cause infertility that cannot be treated with an operative or conservative method, and therefore the only way out is IVF.

Most often, the procedure is indicated in the presence of borderline conditions and diseases that have caused a significant decrease in reproductive functions in both women and men:

  • obstruction or damage to the fallopian tubes (usually the result of surgery or inflammation of the pelvic organs);
  • decrease in semen volume and sperm count;
  • endometriosis;
  • infertility of uncertain genesis;
  • early dysfunction of the ovaries, which leads to their inability to produce eggs;
  • the age of the patient.

Do not forget about the factors that make IVF impossible:

  • mental or physical conditions in which childbirth and pregnancy in general are contraindicated;
  • malformations of the genital organs of a congenital nature, which do not allow a woman to bear a child;
  • tumors of the ovaries and uterus of any order (benign or malignant);
  • inflammatory processes at the acute stage, regardless of their location.

But if a woman has a fibroid was found, then after its removal, if the condition allows, conception can occur both naturally and artificially.

How is the examination and preliminary preparation

All information regarding how the whole process will look like is always contained on the official website of the clinic, which you will entrust with the solution of such an important issue. But you need to know that the whole process usually begins with diagnostics. Few will undertake it, relying on the results of studies carried out in other centers and even more so in countries.

A preliminary examination will allow the doctors of the clinic to assess the full range of indicators of the reproductive system, as well as the state of health in general. The patient will undergo the following examinations:

  • biochemical and general blood test;
  • analysis for HIV, hepatitis B and C;
  • smears;
  • examination for TORCH infections and diseases transmitted during intercourse;
  • analysis of the hormonal blood panel;
  • hormones produced by the thyroid gland;
  • hysteroscopy;
  • spermogram and urethral smear (for men);
  • ECG;
  • a snapshot of the lungs;
  • mammography;
  • Ultrasound.

The list of necessary tests and diagnostic procedures can be expanded according to the doctor's prescription. For example, in some cases, autonomic resonance testing (ART) is performed to detect inflammation, infections, and the threat of cancer. It is based on electropuncture diagnostics, which is based on the principles of Chinese medicine.

But before the study of all the factors affecting the success of IVF begins, the interested couple will have to adjust their lifestyle first:

  • quit smoking and alcohol (drug use is not even considered);
  • avoid large temperature fluctuations (refrain from going to the bathhouse or sauna);
  • observe the daily routine and adhere to the principles of proper nutrition;
  • maintain a healthy emotional background in the family.

In the presence of chronic diseases, you will need to consult a specialized specialist.

The traditional way of artificial insemination

Before embarking on the study of conception in the laboratory in Poland, let's get acquainted with how this procedure looks in the traditional sense. It consists of 6 stages:

  1. Complete examination, preparation for the IVF protocol (can take from three weeks to six months).
  2. Stimulation of superovulation. Its duration is determined by the protocol and can be 8-17 days.
  3. Oocyte puncture on the day of ovulation (takes no more than 30 minutes).
  4. Preparation of sperm and eggs, direct fertilization (3-5 days).
  5. Transfer of embryos into the natural environment (3-7 days after the egg has been fertilized).
  6. Diagnosis of pregnancy. It is usually done 2 weeks after the embryos are placed in the uterus.

Superovulation is carried out through the use of special hormonal drugs. After the dominant follicle reaches the desired size (determined by ultrasound), a puncture of the follicular fluid containing the maturing eggs is performed. After that, a sperm suspension is added to the resulting material in a ratio of 100-200 thousand per egg cell.

Fertilization most often occurs within three hours. Following this, the cells begin to divide, and the egg is already considered an embryo. It is moved to the uterus with a special flexible catheter. The procedure takes place without anesthesia and does not cause any particular discomfort in a woman.

How IVF is carried out in Poland

Artificial insemination in Polish clinics is in demand due to the use of a variety of advanced technologies, and, if necessary, additional techniques, which increases the chances of a successful outcome.

So, IVF clinics specialize in:

  • Classical artificial insemination. Based on the union of eggs with sperm in a test tube. Fertilization takes place within 18 hours outside the patient's body, after which the embryo is placed directly into the uterus. This method is offered to couples whose chances of conception are very high, as evidenced by the good indicators of the studies conducted.
  • ICSI technique (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection).It differs from the traditional method in that the egg is fertilized by only one viable sperm. It is offered in cases where the quality of the semen is not too high. The procedure is performed under a microscope using a micro-suction cup and a microneedle.
  • IMSI (intracytoplasmic morphologicаlly-selectеd sperm injury). It is considered an improved version of the previous manipulation (ICSI). At the initial stage, sperm is screened in the laboratory. For this, very high-resolution optics are used (magnification 6 thousand times). This method of preliminary sperm selection makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the IVF procedure if there is male infertility.
  • TESA (testicular sperm aspiration). It is carried out by means of a testicular biopsy in order to collect a sperm. After that, fertilization takes place according to the ICSI method.
  • Visualization of the spindle division or SP (spindle view). It is used to treat infertility by controlling the place where the sperm is placed, using the ICSI technique. Eliminates the possibility of damage to the fertilized egg during micromanipulation. In addition, this method allows you to establish the degree of development of oocytes, the density and thickness of the zona pellucida.
  • Assisted hatching or AH (assisted hatching). During the procedure, before the embryo is transferred to the uterus, a hole is made in the transparent membrane. The purpose of such manipulation is to facilitate the very process of embryo transfer. This type of fertilization is indicated for women over 37 years old, as well as for patients who have had hormonal abnormalities or who have had previous IVF procedures that have been unsuccessful.

How much does IVF cost in Polish clinics

Prices for in vitro fertilization at local medical centers depend on several factors:

  • from the health situation that has developed in this or that couple;
  • from the set of necessary studies;
  • on the method of IVF;
  • from the need for preliminary treatment of diseases that have resulted in a chronic form, but which may affect the result.

As a rule, each clinic provides an All Inclusive package, which allows future parents to focus exclusively on the issue of the upcoming fertilization. On average, prices across the country range from 6500 to 15 thousand zlotys (1500-3500 euros). This amount does not include travel expenses, visa processing and residence in the country.

Conclusions

Many married couples, desperate to have a child, are trying to find a solution to this problem in foreign clinics. Poland is one of the demanded destinations today. There are several reasons for this: this is focus on Russian-speaking patients, and a high level of service, and rather low prices.

Polish clinics successfully use both the classical IVF technique and additional methods (ICSI, IMSI, TEZA and others), which can significantly increase the effectiveness of the proposed manipulations.

The leading medical centers specializing in artificial insemination are "Aist", "Invicta" and "Gameta". The great advantage of these centers is the Russian-speaking staff and the possibility of paying for a special package under the "all inclusive" program.
