The Czech Republic is a cozy European country, which is known for a huge number of attractions of historical value. The Czech Republic attracts tourists not only with its low prices and well-developed infrastructure, but also with delicious national cuisine. To enjoy local food, you need to know in advance where to eat in the Czech Republic.

A little about the national cuisine of the Czech Republic

Hearty Czech cuisine is prepared using meat, flour and cereals. The most popular national dishes are dumplings - dumplings with or without filling, beef goulash, drowned people - spicy pickled sausages, svichkova - lamb or beef tenderloin stewed in cream.

Fat fried pork with stewed cabbage, dumplings with meat filling, fried mushrooms in spices (most often honey mushrooms) are in special demand among tourists.

From Czech desserts, both locals and vacationers prefer kalachi - lush pies with berry, fruit, curd filling, and also wafers - thin round waffles glued in pairs with jam, nut or vanilla mass.

Travelers rarely pass by lush Czech house brioche-like brioche buns. They are eaten on the streets, served fried in restaurants, and eaten with butter on the hauski.

What street food is worth trying

Traditional Czech food can be enjoyed on the streets of the city so as not to be distracted from sightseeing. It is not uncommon to see stalls with fried sausages on the streets, especially in places where tourists gather. The dish is usually served on bread with lettuce and hot sauces.

Deep-fried potato slices on wooden skewers are fast and delicious food prepared right in front of you.

Old Prague ham is cut in street tents from skewers and sold by weight (at least 600 g per person). A vegetable garnish must be attached to it, which can serve as an independent dish.

Trdlo deserves special attention - a hollow roll made of butter dough, thickly sprinkled with cinnamon and vanilla sugar. Almost any fast food stall sells soft ice cream, and in the cold season you can warm up coffee with spices or mulled wine.
