Thanks to flights, people are able to travel hundreds of kilometers to find themselves on the other side of the world. Airplanes are considered the safest and fastest mode of transport. Today, there are over 1000 operating airlines. Among them is Malaysia Airlines, which carries out transportation on 6 continents of the world.

Airline history

Malaysia Airlines was founded in 1937 and originally had a different name - Malayan Airways. The airline made its first flight in 1947 from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. Until this moment, the activities of the organization were frozen due to the Second World War.

In 1957, when Malaysia became an independent state, the airline was renamed Malaysian Airways. In 1966, on the basis of the existing one, the joint Singapore-Malaysian airlines were created, which in 1972 split into two independent organizations. 15 years later, in 1987, the company received its modern name - Malaysia Airlines.

Over the years of the airline's existence, there have been 4 large-scale plane crashes, mostly related to external factors:

  • In 1977, one of the planes was hijacked by a terrorist - all the people on board were killed - 100 people.
  • In 1995, the plane crashed while landing - 34 people were killed.
  • In 2021, two large-scale disasters happened at once: on March 8, one of the aircraft disappeared without a trace from the dispatchers' radars, and on July 17, a Boeing 777-200ER crashed over the territory of Ukraine - all 298 people on board were killed.

Passenger service

Malaysia Airlines offers its passengers a flight in modern and comfortable aircraft, which are divided into 3 classes: first, business and economy class. Over the years, this airline has won awards for its high level of passenger service more than once.

All flight attendants and stewards undergo thorough training before starting work. The form of the staff is also distinguished by sophistication - it was developed by the fashion school of one of the Max Mara universities.

The main rule of the airline is an individual approach to each passenger. All of them are provided with meals during the flight. It may differ depending on the class and duration of the flight. Each passenger can ask for an individual change in the menu, and the request will be satisfied taking into account the wishes.

On board Malaysia Airlines aircraft, all religious, age or medical conditions of passengers are respected and taken into account.

For passengers traveling with a higher comfort class, additional services are offered, including comfortable waiting rooms called Golden Lounge. On their territory, travelers can relax, have a snack or spend time with children. There are sleeping rooms, as well as playgrounds.

Malaysia Airlines aircraft have a two-cabin or three-cabin layout. The first class cab accommodates 12 seats, each of which folds out into a full horizontal position. The chair itself is over 70 centimeters wide. The distance between the seats is 200 centimeters.

The capacity of the business class cabins ranges from 35 to 41 passengers. The armchairs here fold out into the “resting” position with special footrests. All passengers are provided with portable players and power outlets.

Economy class seats are narrower, but they also have footrests. On some aircraft, each seat has a video display, and some have built-in monitors between the rows of seats.
