Dubai expects to resume receiving foreign guests in July. Gulf News quoted Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing CEO Helal Said Al Marri as saying: “We plan to open Dubai to international tourists from early July. However, this process can drag on until September and will depend on the opening of their borders by other countries. Nevertheless, we need to be prepared for this in advance. ”

According to Al Marri, the possibility of travel to the UAE will be conditioned by the results of interaction between the states. Each country will independently set the time frame for opening borders for its citizens. “Due to the pandemic, tourists had to reconsider their priorities. Hygiene and health will now take on greater importance and hotels will need to prepare to meet changing customer requirements, ”said the CEO of Dubai Tourism.

He said that this would seriously increase the cost of hotel owners. The authorities of the emirates will try to provide maximum support to workers in the tourism industry, for example, by reducing fees on municipal payments by 50%.

Markets, shopping malls and restaurants began to open in the UAE on April 25. Visitors are allowed to stay there for no more than three hours and they must keep a distance of at least 2 meters from each other.

Tourism is one of the most profitable sectors of the UAE economy and, in particular, Dubai. In 2021, 16.73 million people visited the emirates, spending a total of approximately $ 40 billion.

As of April 28, 10,800 cases of COVID-19 and 82 deaths from this disease were registered in the UAE. During the day, the number of infected increased by 490.
