The Georgian government, in connection with the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the capital, decided to open entry and exit in the capital on May 11. Recall that the closure of the city's borders was introduced on April 15.

In addition to the capital, entry and exit were closed in the cities: Rustavi, Batumi and Kutaisi. Forced measures were taken by the authorities due to the massive spread of the coronavirus. Initially, they wanted to introduce the restriction for only 10 days, but then they decided to extend it until the end of the quarantine.

In Rustavi, in connection with the positive dynamics of the fight against coronavirus, the city is planned to be opened on May 14, but this issue is still being discussed at a government meeting. And in the cities of Batumi and Kutaisi on May 5, all restrictions on movement were lifted.

Over the entire quarantine period, according to official statistics, 3.85 million cases of the disease were confirmed in the country, of which 1.28 million recovered and 270,000 were deaths. Fortunately, the forced preventive measures and self-isolation of cities have brought positive results: in a decrease in new cases of Covid-19 infection.

Recall that quarantine was introduced throughout the country from March 21, which was extended until May 22. Also on the territory of the country there is a curfew: from 6: 00-22: 00. All citizens must be in self-isolation at home, leave the house only in case of emergency with identity documents.

According to the latest data, 615 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded, of which 275 people recovered.
