The press service of the leadership of the Leningrad region told when it will be possible to resume excursions in the region. According to the relevant order, it will be allowed to do this already from Tuesday, May 12. However, there is a reservation - so far, excursion programs will be allowed only in the open air. The government also strongly recommends continuing to adhere to the mask regime until new orders are received in this regard.

“It is true, starting from May 12 it will be possible to conduct outdoor excursions in the Leningrad Region again. The government approved this decision with the proviso that it will not operate in all localities and only with continued observance of the mask regime and adherence to other measures of individual protection of the population, ”said the governor of the region Alexander Drozdenko at the end of a special government briefing.

This decision became possible after the overall incidence of coronavirus infection decreased in some areas of the Leningrad Region. Where the situation is gradually improving, in the near future it is planned to allow the resumption of excursions even in closed museums. True, at first sightseeing groups will not have to include more than five to ten people.

“The region is gradually beginning to revive culturally, and this is absolutely correct, as expected,” summed up Alexander Drozdenko.

As of May 11, at once in twenty-nine cities and towns of the Leningrad region, the mandatory wearing of protective medical masks was introduced at points of sale, transport, pharmacies and other closed public places. This regime operates in the settlements of Vyborgsky, Boksitogorsky, Gatchinsky, Vsevolozhsky, Lomonosovsky, Tosno and Priozersky districts. It is in these areas that the largest number of people in the region who have contracted a dangerous infectious disease have been recorded.
