Vietnamese authorities plan to extend visas to foreigners

The following information was brought to the attention of the Russian Embassy in Hanoi by the Government of Vietnam. Due to the current situation as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, it is considered possible to extend visas for foreigners to visit the country.

The Ministry of Public Security informed the public "... that the government has made a decision to further extend the visas ...". It is planned that citizens of other countries who are currently on the territory of the state will be provided with all the necessary information and relevant explanations after May 15. This information was posted on its Facebook page by the consular department of the Russian embassy.

The Russian diplomatic mission recommended applying with the necessary certificates to extend the validity of existing documents only after the new information is published on its official pages on social networks and in groups belonging to the consular section and the consulate general located in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

Recall that the World Health Organization confirmed a pandemic of the new COVID-19 virus on March 11, 2021. According to existing WHO information, over 4,000,000 infected patients have been officially registered in the world over the past period, more than 278,000 infected have died as a result of coronavirus infection.
