The Kingdom of Norway is one of the best countries in the world, according to the UN. The state is rich in culture, science and fabulous nature. The Kingdom also gives foreigners the opportunity to start life in the most comfortable conditions.

Basic information

Norway is located in the northwest of the Scandinavian Peninsula, surrounded by three seas. The coast is indented by fjords and steep banks. There are mountain rivers, diverse flora and fauna.

The climate is maritime and temperate, closer to the north - subarctic. On the coasts and south, the climate is milder due to the warm current of the Gulf Stream, but the average temperature + 2–5 ° С... Summer is cool - plus 10-15 ° C... Heavy precipitation (rain, snow) and cold winds.

Square - 323 800 km², moreover, water areas are 3 times higher than land areas. Norway consists of 19 counties (regions) that belong to 5 unofficial regions.

Population - 4.5 million people, the largest city is the capital Oslo (about 625,000 people).

The country is developed, has entered the post-industrial stage of development. GDP exceeds $ 370 billion. Specialization is conditioned by natural conditions: forests, fishing, cheap electricity, etc.

The developed areas of agriculture also influence the national cuisine: the main ingredients of Norwegian dishes are fish, meat, and dairy products.

The state occupies a leading position in international ratings. In 2019, it was ranked first in the UN Prosperity Index.

Where to start emigration

To emigrate, you first need to apply for a visa. There are two types of entry permits:

  1. Temporary residence permit (type C or D);
  2. Standard residence permit.

To emigrate, the applicant applies to the embassy or visa centers. Most immigrants recommend dealing with the issue on their own, and not through agencies, because this saves time and money. Registration cost in Moscow - about 20 €.

Employment

Moving through employment is the most popular option among immigrants.

There are three types of obtaining a residence permit in this way:

Job Seeker

Gives the right to legal stay in order to find a job. The applicant provides:

  • Diploma of education;
  • Financial guarantees (bank statement confirming the availability of 207,900 kroons);
  • Rental agreement.

Looking for:

  • Diploma of education;
  • Employer's statement confirming that the employee's income will amount to at least 500,000 kroons per year (sample will be provided by the Consulate).

  • Diploma of education;
  • Proof of work experience (extract from the work book);

The most demanded are the following specialists:

  • Doctors (highly specialized);
  • Seasonal workers;
  • Engineers;
  • Workers with children and adolescents (teachers, psychologists);
  • Nannies;
  • Oil workers.

There are no restrictions on employment for immigrants.

Business immigration

The Norwegian government does not provide for any factors that make it easier for investors to obtain visas and citizenship. However, there is a business visa that is issued to entrepreneurs starting their own business.

A businessman registers a company on the territory of the state. Basic conditions:

  • The minimum capital is 13 000 €;
  • As a manager, you need to hire the submitted Kingdom;
  • It is understood that the business will be successful, i.e. the projected profit is at least 25 000 €.

If the company meets these requirements, the entrepreneur receives a residence permit with the possibility of renewal. The application is considered for a year.

Immigration through the acquisition of real estate

Investing in real estate does not bring any benefits when applying for a residence permit. This only makes it easier to issue a multiple entry visa.

The Norwegian "multivisa" is a document that allows you to freely travel to the country for tourist, business, guest and similar purposes. Also gives the right to visit other parties to the European Agreement, except for the UK and Ireland. Refers to a subspecies of the Schengen visa.

Acquisition of real estate does not allow you to move for a long time.

Studies

The emigration of a Russian can be facilitated by education.

First of all, the applicant determines which university he wants to enter. Further, he finds out the requirements of a particular educational institution for the applicant (passing exams, etc.). After solving all these issues, he receives an invitation from the university, becomes a student.

When applying for a visa, the student provides the following documents:

  • Invitation from the university;
  • Lease agreement (confirms the availability of housing);
  • Financial guarantees (confirmation of the availability of sufficient funds in the account (for 2016 the amount was € 10,580);
  • Medical insurance for the entire period of study;
  • Application (sample is provided by the embassy or consulate).

After applying for a visa, the student moves. Further, he must register at the nearest police station within 7 days (he must have his passport and a letter from the Immigration Office with him). Residence permit is issued after 10 days.

In the state, education is free (not counting the student contribution of 50 €), but you will have to pay for your stay yourself.

After graduation, it is possible to get a job in any country in Europe or the United States. Diplomas from Norwegian universities are appreciated in the West, and the graduate gets the opportunity to get a job in large companies.

Family reunification and marriage

Family reunification is a process by which a person immigrates through a relative (spouse) who is a citizen of Norway. This is both reunification with a relative and marriage with a Norwegian citizen or citizen.

In each case, different conditions apply.

SpousesLegal marriage: partners over 18 years of age.

Cohabitation:

  • Cohabitation has been going on for more than two years;
  • Partners are not in relationships with other people;
  • Partners are at least 18 years old;
  • Joint residence is planned in the future.

After 3 years, you can apply for permanent residence, after 5 years of marriage, the applicant applies for citizenship. But this is only on condition that the marriage persists.

You must provide:

  • Applications from both spouses (sample is provided by the Consulate);
  • Marriage certificate;
  • Color photographs of both spouses.
Children

Requirements for children of subjects:

  • Age less than 18 years old;
  • Both parents (or one in the case of guardianship; one with the consent of the other) legally reside in the Kingdom.
ParentsParents (sometimes other relatives as well) can obtain a residence permit for 9 months.

Have the right to this:

  • A father or mother over 60 years of age who does not have other relatives (spouse, cohabitant) at home and is not able to support himself, whose adult child is a citizen;
  • An underage brother or sister of a citizen who has no relatives at home.

Requirements for applicants:

  • A citizen inviting a relative must have income at least 27,000 € per year (for each family member);
  • A resident with a residence permit or permanent residence should not have received social benefits for the last year;
  • The living space is large enough for each family member;
  • For married couples - readiness for further relationships (in the event of a divorce or separation, permissions lose their relevance).

Such applications are considered for about 2 months. This is one of the easiest ways to move. The disadvantages include the lack of guarantees that parting will not happen (with immigration through marriage).

Immigration for refugees

Refugee - a person forced to leave the homeland due to extraordinary circumstances.

The procedure is lengthy. The applicants are placed in special centers for refugees, and they live on state support. If the Norwegian embassy accepts a refugee, then he receives housing, the opportunity to find a job and learn the language.

After the decision is made, it will be necessary to renounce the citizenship of the homeland. Dual citizenship is prohibited by law.

The reasons for being granted refugee status must be serious. The applicant must prove that it is dangerous for him to return to his home country. Something may threaten his life: the death penalty, torture, military and other atrocities that violate human rights.

A refugee is taken under protection if he has been persecuted on the basis of religious or political views, belonging to any social group (because of race, gender, orientation). Harassment can be carried out on behalf of the government, armed groups or ordinary people.

They can refuse if:

  • The reasons are not strong enough;
  • The country from which the emigration is made is recognized as “safe”;
  • There is another way to solve the problem.

If they disagree, the applicant has the right to appeal within three weeks.

Living in Norway

The Kingdom leads the list of countries with the highest living standards. It is distinguished by excellent ecology, high salaries and pensions, free medicine, low crime rates, etc.

But there are also downsides. This:

  • Expensive food, housing and transportation;
  • Low population density (unusually small number of people and loneliness);
  • Progressive taxation (taxes rise with salaries);
  • Cold climate conducive to depression.

Resides in the state more than 20 thousand Russian immigrants. On the Internet, they share their impressions.

How quickly a language learns, whether there will be homesickness, how long the adaptation takes - it all depends on the person, it is difficult to say something specific. There are no problems with work, there is almost no unemployment in Norway, and benefits allow you to live comfortably without a paycheck. The average income is 25-30,000 kroons, but taxes are not deducted, and taxes rise along with wages. It is very expensive to live here, the prices are really high. There are problems with medicine: it is very difficult to get to the doctor and get normal treatment. However, the most difficult thing is to rebuild myself - at first I could not get used to the fact that people were smiling at me on the street.

Elena

The main disadvantage for me, as well as for many visitors, is medicine. It is extremely difficult to get to the doctor, you have to wait several weeks. Everything here is very expensive, but in accordance with salaries, only taxes are "pricked". Norwegians are very indignant about how many refugees arrive, how much money is spent on these refugees, and every year this issue is becoming more acute. More about the Norwegians: they are used not to whine, but to act. Slowly and gradually, but productively.

Tatyana

On their You-Tube channels Elena, Ekaterina Zolotova and Tatyana Nikolaenko talk in more detail about their experience of life in Norway.

From all this, we can conclude why Norway is so attractive for people planning to live there. But before you leave, it is worth considering the disadvantages. After all, top positions in various ratings do not guarantee an objective “heaven on earth”.
