Obtaining a residence permit is a key condition for a migrant to obtain the status of a permanent resident of the Russian Federation. A copy of a residence permit submitted by a migrant for renewal must be completed with a notarized copy. Other documents

Other necessary documents can be obtained (respectively):

  • Photos - by contacting the nearest photo studio, or directly to the local department of the GUVM (4 or 2 photos required - for valid foreign citizens and stateless persons, respectively, for each child mentioned in the application, 2 pictures will also be required);

Submitting a request

To renew their status, a resident must no later than 2 months (60 days)remaining before the expiration of the next period of validity of the residence permit, send a corresponding request to the authorized department of the Main Directorate for the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the place of your residence (or stay).

Prepared documents for the extension of the residence permit are submitted through a personal visit. Remote filing (for example, through the website of the State Service) is not provided for by the administrative regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. An application for a minor and / or incapacitated foreigner is submitted by his legal representative (parent, guardian, etc.).

Upon acceptance of the request, the applicant is issued an appropriate certificate confirming the residence permit in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Terms of consideration

During the working day following the day the decision is made to extend (or refuse to extend), the foreigner is notified of the possibility (or impossibility) of prolonging the residence permit. Possible reasons for refusal

List of main reasons for refusal to renew:
