Many travelers try to get the maximum experience on their vacation, therefore, when they find themselves in Europe, they want to visit more than one country. This is quite possible if you plan your route correctly and take care of your tickets in advance. Today we will discuss how to get from Prague to Paris.

There are good transport links between the capital of the Czech Republic and the main French city. However, you can quickly get to Paris only by plane. Land modes of transport are significantly slower.

But if you want to save money, then take the bus ride. Perhaps the most inconvenient way to get from Prague to Paris is by rail. There is no direct train in the given direction. The journey with transfers will take a long time, and the cost of the travel document is not the lowest.

How to get there by train

Those who decide to choose this method should have enough free time. First, you have to get by bus to Munich or Mannheim, where you have to change to a high-speed train to Paris.

Let's first consider the option via Munich. The train to Paris leaves from Munich's main train station, while a bus from Prague arrives at the bus station. It is convenient that both stations are located at a distance of 500 m from each other, which allows you to cover the path on foot and not get tied up with the schedule of public transport.

RegioJet operates a daily flight from Prague to Munich. The bus leaves at 23.00 and arrives at 04.45. Ticket prices start at 22.9 euros. In Prague, buses leave from the Florenc central bus station.

The Munich-Paris train leaves from Munich Train Station at 6.23. You will have enough time to get from the bus station to the station and get on the carriage, given the proximity of transport hubs.

The train arrives in Paris at 12.13, that is, the travel time will be 5 hours 50 minutes. The minimum cost of a train ticket for a given direction is 105 euros. You can book a seat and buy a travel document on the website.

Another option is to take a bus to German Mannheim, and from there also take a direct train to Paris. This way will take more time, it may be possible to save a little on travel. This combination is convenient due to the small time interval between the arrival of the bus and the departure of the train, as well as the close proximity of the bus and railway station in Mannheim.

RegioJet offers a suitable flight on the Prague-Mannheim route. The bus from the Prague bus station Florenc departs at 9.10 and arrives at its destination at 17.10. Thus, you will spend 8 hours on the road. The ticket costs 29.9 euros

Direct train Mannheim-Paris is offered by Czech railways. Therefore, you can view the schedule and buy a ticket on the official website of the carrier. There is a direct train to the French capital at 17.40 and 19.39. The road will take 3 hours 13 minutes. The minimum cost of a travel document is 85 euros.

On the trains of the Czech national carrier, children under 15 are entitled to discounts. Younger passengers under 6 travel free of charge.

It is profitable to purchase round-trip tickets, in this case a pleasant bonus awaits - a 5% discount of the total amount.

The carriages have luggage compartments. Bags with dimensions of 90x50x40 cm are considered hand luggage and are carried free of charge. You can place such luggage under the seat, on shelves or on hooks.

In Paris, trains arrive at Gare de Paris-Est. It is located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. From the station there are daytime buses No. 30-32, 38, 39, 65, 350, 46, 47, 56 and night buses No. 140, 143. The ticket will cost you 5 euros.

The railway station of the 4th, 5th and 7th metro lines is connected with different parts of the city. From the Gare de l'Est station there is a RER city train. Of course, you can order a taxi, but such a trip will cost 30-50 euros.

By bus

Traveling from Prague to Paris by bus is the best deal. On the way, you will spend about 14 hours, but without changes and unnecessary hassle. Buses in the Czech Republic are an inexpensive and comfortable mode of transport. It is especially popular if there are no direct trains along the given route, and this is just our case.

Direct flight from the carrier RegioJet departs at 23.00. The bus arrives in Paris at 13.05. The cost of the travel document is 59.9 euros.

The only drawback is the night crossing. However, the comfortable chairs will allow you to relax even while sitting. The salon has sockets, air conditioning, Wi-Fi.

Children under 6 years old are entitled to free travel. Children under 3 years old should be transported in special chairs. However, the carrier does not provide this accessory, so the passenger's lack of it may become an obstacle to travel. It is convenient and profitable to buy a bus ticket on the official website of the carrier.

The yellow RegioJet buses in Paris stop at the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin bus stop. It's practically in the center of the city. Château Landon Metro Station is nearby.

The popular carrier Flix Bus offers several Prague-Paris buses throughout the day, both direct and with transfers. However, the most convenient flight departs at 16.55 and arrives at 06.45. Thus, you will spend 13 hours on the way. The ticket price is 79.99 euros.

The carrier provides discounts for passengers under 14 years old. It is possible to transport babies under 3 years old only in a special chair, which parents must take care of themselves.

A group ticket (from 3 to 40 people) will help you save on travel. However, it is only possible to see if a special price is available for a specific selected flight when booking. Such a travel document must be purchased at least one day before the trip.

In Paris, Flix Buses arrive at the Gare de Bercy train station. Bercy is connected with other districts of Paris by metro (lines M6, M12), as well as city buses No. 87 and 24.

The starting point of the RegioJet and Flix Bus buses is the central bus station Florenc. All city transport arrives at the stop of the same name. You can get to Florenc by metro (lines B and C), by tram (3, 8, 24) or by bus (133, 135, 175, 194 and 207).

By plane to Paris from Prague

An airplane is the best way to travel long distances. If you buy a ticket in advance, then its cost will be lower than the bus one, and you will find yourself in Paris in an hour and a half. Direct flights on the given route are carried out by two airlines - Vueling and Czech Airlines.

If you want to make an economical flight, then it makes sense to use the services of the low-cost airline Vueling.

The Spanish carrier offers one direct flight from Prague to Paris every day. The airliner departs at 17.20 and lands at 19.05. You will spend 1 hour and 45 minutes in the air.

If you purchase a travel document one and a half months before departure, its cost (basic) can be as low as 44.99 euros. It is convenient to view the schedule, book and buy tickets on the official website of the company.

Czech carrier Czech Airlines operates several direct flights during the day: 7.10, 12.25, 17.35. The cost of the ticket depends on the date and time of the flight.

A cheap travel document can be purchased in advance. If you buy a ticket on the official website of the air carrier at least 45 days before departure, it will cost you only 61 euros. Those who fly in a friendly company can make a group booking and get a number of benefits.

On a Czech Airlines plane you will fly from Prague to Paris in 1 hour 50 minutes.

In Prague, planes take off from the air station. Vaclav Havel. The airport is located 17 km from the center of the Czech capital.

You can get to the air port by different types of public transport.

  • The bus stop is located near terminals 1 and 2. From the metro station "Nadrazi Veleslavin" there is bus number 119, which will take you to the airport in just 15 minutes.
  • You can take bus no. 100 at the stop at the Zlichin station, in this case the trip will take 35 minutes. The bus ticket costs 1.25 euros.
  • If you decide to take a taxi, you will have to pay 17 euros for the trip from the city center to the air port.

In the French capital, planes land at Charles de Gaulle airport. There is a well-established bus connection between the air station and the city. You can also take the city train or order a taxi transfer.

Tickets for regular buses 350 and 351 cost 6 euros. You can get to the city by electric train for 11.4 euros, but twice as fast (35 min.). The Roissybus runs between the center of Paris and the airport every 15 minutes, the travel time is 50 minutes, the ticket costs 12.5 euros.

With a rented car

The distance between Paris and Prague is 1032 km. If you choose a fast route, then it will take 9 hours 39 minutes to get from one city to another by car. Most of the journey will have to be done through Germany. However, you will not be able to enjoy the beauty of famous German cities, because the road goes around.

Nuremberg will be the only attraction on the way, despite the fact that there are as many as 700 kilometers of the way through Germany. But on the other hand, you will drive into toll sections of the road several times, most of which will be encountered already in France.

The optimal route Prague-Paris is along the E50 through Pilsen. After crossing the border with Germany, take the A6 autobahn through Nuremberg, Heidelberg and Saarbrücken. Continue along the French A4 motorway through Metz and Reims all the way to Paris

On average, you will need about 100 liters of fuel. A liter of gasoline in Europe costs 1.29 euros, for the same amount of diesel you need to pay 1.25 euros. Therefore, only for gasoline one way will need 130 euros, and in both directions - 260 euros.

There are no vignettes for French toll roads. You can pay through special machines at the entrance or exit of the paid section. The exact cost depends on the specific site. Roughly, you need to be ready to pay 10 euros for every 100 km.

Another expense item will be car rental.

When concluding an agreement, specify that you are going to cross the border by car. Sometimes they charge extra for this.

You can rent a car through a website, for example, czech.myrentacar.com, at the company's office, of which there are many in the city center or at the airport. The client can order the delivery of the car to any chosen place.

The main condition for concluding a contract is the presence of a driver's license, driving experience (more than 1 year), and the driver must not be younger than 21 years old. Sometimes, on terms of surcharge, a car can be rented even at the age of 19.

If you find a driver on the BlaBlaCar service, the trip will cost you 32 euros. Traveling as a travel companion is convenient for those who travel alone and with minimal luggage.

Eventually

The most convenient way to get to Paris from Prague is by plane: if you book your ticket in advance, the trip will be quite inexpensive. In case of an urgent or unplanned trip, it is better to take a bus.

There is no direct train along the route, so the railway is chosen if there are no other options.

Traveling by car is expensive. A road trip is beneficial only for a friendly company, when all expenses are distributed among several people.
