Vladimir Dzhabarov, acting deputy chairman of the international affairs committee under the Federation Council, said that Russian borders would be closed until the COVID-19 vaccine appears.

According to the senator, the Russian Federation may not open its state borders until it has at its disposal an effective vaccine against the virus.

In his interview to the radio station "Moscow speaking," Mr. Dzhabarov noted that at present the Russian Federation should not rush to resolve the issue of opening its borders. Since, in the event of their opening, patients and carriers of the virus will rush into the country, at the same time, one should not forget that “the disease spreads instantly”.

In addition, the senator added that there is no one to open air communication with Russia, since the ban on civil aviation flights is in effect in many countries of Europe, America and Asia. Foreign states, as well as the Russian Federation, are in no hurry to resume air traffic, fearing that later, "it will not work out sideways."
