Not so long ago, the city administration announced that a considerable number of beaches this year in the city of Sochi were awarded the right to receive international environmental certificates "Blue Flag" for the cleanliness of their recreation areas.
“The information was confirmed at the international program, which took place in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen. This year, an international certificate will be awarded to 23 beaches throughout Russia, 21 of which are located in the city of Sochi. The certificates will be received after the closure of measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
“The cleanliness of the sea, the quality of services, the improvement of beaches and the safety of vacationers are the basis on which we are building the resort sector in Sochi. That is why the award of the international community is the best indicator that we are moving in the right direction, ”the mayor of the city said in a statement.
The city first received such an impressive award for cleanliness, safety and convenience in 2021. This came as a surprise to many foreign resorts. In that year, the jury noted only six beaches, and by 2021 their number had risen sharply to thirteen. In the coming season, even more Sochi territories will be included in the list of some of the best recommended beaches.
According to the authorities, in the summer there will be 190 beach areas, 82 of which are urban. Currently, restoration and painting work is underway, and all the necessary equipment is being purchased. Also, contracts were concluded for the installation of video surveillance and emergency buttons.
