To visit a number of countries for any purpose, Russians need a visa. But there are states, and their list is growing and expanding, for visiting which, within a certain time period, a visa is not required. They are called visa-free.
The concept of a visa-free regime
Strictly speaking, only countries where Russian citizens do not need any permits to enter can be called visa-free. But in the international tourism definition, states are also considered as such, for which there is no need to open a visa in advance. It can be placed at the border, both for money and for free.
Also, entering in a visa-free regime is considered a transit stay. And, finally, countries where you can enter by yourself applying for an online e-visa are equated to partially visa-free entry.
Important! When a passport is needed to travel to a country without the need to have a pre-pasted visa in it, the regime of entry into it can be considered visa-free.
The list of such countries for Russian tourists in 2021 includes almost 150 positions, while in 2019 there were a dozen fewer.
Without a visa and without a passport
There are six countries, to visit which tourists from Russia do not need not only a visa, but even a passport. They can go to travel to any of these states only with their own internal passport.

Passport only
The visa should not be present in it, and when passing the border procedures, only a stamp with the date of entry is put. The following is also added to the passport:

- Return tickets;
- Paid hotel or rental;
- Birth certificates of children, plus their passports, or if they are entered in the parental;
- And also - money for the period of stay in the minimum established for each country.
