SmartWings is a brand of the Czech airline Travel Service Airlines. The trademark was registered in 2004 for cheap scheduled flights to cities in Europe and Asia.
Even the President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, was present at the grand opening at the Ruzyne air station on May 1, 2021. On that day, there were two flights: Prague-Paris and Prague-Zurich.
After the bankruptcy in 2009, SkyEurope SmartWings began operating regular flights to Paris and Rome.

How is check-in for the flight
For its passengers, the company offers two tariff plans: economy, which provides a minimum number of options, and business. All additional services are carried out at an additional cost.
It is advantageous to book a ticket for a flight directly on the website. This can also be done by phone or at the airport; the service is available in 55 countries of the world.
To check-in, you must arrive at the airport no later than two hours before departure. Already 40 minutes before the departure time of the airliner, the check-in desk closes. Passengers who are late do not check in, the money for the ticket will not be refunded.
Online check-in opens 30 hours before departure.

It is allowed to carry on board a musical instrument that does not exceed the specified maximum weight. It can be 90 cm long, 35 cm wide and 20 cm deep.
Baggage that goes to the cargo compartment for economy class passengers should not exceed 15 kg in weight, and for business class travelers - 20 kg. You will have to pay extra for the extra weight.
In any case, the maximum weight of one piece of baggage must not exceed 32 kg, and the sum of all three sides must not exceed 250 cm. For exceeding the limit, a charge of 6 EUR / kg will be charged.
To take on board an airliner excess checked baggage, you must book a seat for it in advance in the My Flights section. Transportation of non-standard items is paid separately:
- excess baggage weighing up to 32 kg - 59 euros / piece;
- sports equipment - 59 euros / piece with a weight of up to 32 kg;
- animals - 59 euros / unit with a weight of up to 8 kg and carried in the cabin or 119 euros / unit with a weight of 8-32 kg and carried in a box.
You can carry liquids and gels in hand luggage in packages with a capacity of 100 ml. Fragile items: works of art, musical instruments - are transported in the passenger compartment in an additional free seat. The size of the item should not exceed 42x41x120 cm.
Flight with children
Low-cost airline SmartWings carries young passengers who are two days old after birth. For children from 6 to 12 years old, you can order an escort service. The cost of this service is 59 euros / direction.
A child over 12 years old can travel unaccompanied by an adult, however, an escort service during the flight is available for passengers under 17 years old.
For children under two years old, it is not required to purchase a ticket. Such a child, attached with a special seat belt, flies in the arms of an adult.
Baby car seats and cots are transported free of charge. It is allowed to take baby food in a bottle up to 200 ml to the salon. It is possible to order a children's menu. This can be done when purchasing an air ticket or in the "My Flights" section 48 hours before departure.
Medical restrictions
In some cases, a medical certificate may be required to travel with these airlines. This rule applies to people who have recently had a stroke or myocardial infarction. Also, in the presence of plaster on the limbs, after recently suffered severe injuries, an acute infectious disease.
Women in position can only fly until the 34th week of pregnancy. You must have a certificate confirming the dates.
Passengers in wheelchairs are offered a free escort, which must be ordered no later than two days before departure. It should be indicated what the client can do on his own, and in what he needs help.
Passengers are allowed to take their own oxygen cylinder into the cabin if it is necessary for medical reasons (there must be a doctor's note). The service is paid - 200 euros for 311.5 liters in one direction. Payment is made when placing an order; it will not be possible to pay at the airport before departure.
Meals in the aircraft cabin
The airline does not provide free meals (only for a flight distance exceeding 4.5 hours). However, you can order light snacks or refreshments on board for an additional fee. 48 hours before the flight, you can order food from the menu that is relevant for the flight.
Loyalty programs
The company does not develop loyalty programs for its customers because of the initially low prices for air tickets and services. The bonus can be obtained only when ordering a group trip (from 10 people). Passengers in a group purchase tickets with a 10 percent discount.
