Greece partially lifts quarantine restrictions from May 4: step by step on the way to a familiar way of life

Greece is one of the first countries to impose strict restrictions on the movement of vehicles and the free exit of citizens from their homes due to the risk of the spread of the coronavirus. Everyone was eagerly awaiting the relaxation of quarantine measures, and since May 4, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his address on TV, announced the phased lifting of restrictions. The process will take two months.

According to the prime minister, the government is acting in accordance with the recommendations of the Scientific Committee. The latter, in turn, developed a strategy for the safest transition to the usual way of life. So, from Monday, May 4, restrictions on the movement of citizens are lifted. Now you don't have to write an application or send SMS. However, it will be possible to move only in the area of ​​residence. This situation will last for at least two weeks.

Greek citizens will be able to engage in individual sports, but not indoors, but in open areas, the sea coast, while public beaches still remain closed.

Trade

May 4 - A number of shops start working. Books, electronics, sporting goods will be available. Service stations will open their doors, and so far it will be possible to get to the hairdresser's only by appointment. Small retail outlets and shops will be able to visit from May 11, and large shopping centers will receive visitors on June 1. When going shopping, you should be prepared for the fact that the number of buyers inside the premises will still be limited.

Temple services

The church went to meet the government, and during the period of strict quarantine, all instructions were followed. For understanding and assistance, the prime minister expressed gratitude to the head, Archbishop Jerome and the clergy. On May 4, it is allowed to come to the temple on an individual basis, when how to take part in the Divine Liturgy will turn out already on May 17.

Educational establishments

On May 11, the third graders of the lyceums will start their studies. On May 17, students from other classes will start their studies. Schools and kindergartens will remain in the painting, presumably until June 1.

Cafes, restaurants, hotels

The first day of summer will be marked by the opening of catering establishments and hotels with year-round operation. During June, the rest of the enterprises will gradually enter the working rhythm, however, concerts, festivals and sporting events are still unlikely.

The head of government stressed that the economic recovery will be gradual. Each step is planned to be coordinated with the relevant state services and the Ministry of Health.

The war with an invisible enemy continues

The coronavirus is an insidious enemy, and you shouldn't forget about its existence. The invisible threat continues to exist, and complacency is not the best option in this situation. The population will be informed on a daily basis, and the transition to the usual way should be gradual.
