Domestic tourism will soon resume in Israel. The opening date of the hotels was announced: May 3, 2021. But not all hotels will be open. Hotels equipped with rooms with a separate entrance on the ground floor, and Zimers, small guest houses, will begin to receive guests. This information was reported by the press service of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.

The decision was made on April 27 during a meeting where the timing of the resumption of the tourism industry was discussed.

Following the meeting, Yariv Levin, Israel's Minister of Tourism, made a proposal. It talks about the phased resumption of the tourism industry within the state.

In addition, a decision was made to develop the "Purple Sign" standard. This standard will confirm that hotels and rooms can operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. The standard will be developed in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Health and adopted as soon as possible.

The further fate of the tourism industry will depend on how the epidemiological situation in the country develops.

Yariv Levin was glad for the industry workers and business owners. The Minister of Tourism noted that these are the first specific dates for the resumption of the tourism industry since the beginning of the crisis.

Counselor of the Embassy of the State of Israel Vladimir Shklyar noted that in less than a week, domestic tourism will be available to Israeli citizens. He also expressed the hope that the borders will be open soon, and Russian citizens will be able to visit Israel.
