Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko officially announced that the opening date of the tourist season in the country is still unknown, everything will depend on the incidence of Covid-19.

Only after a decrease in the dynamics of morbidity will they take measures to ease quarantine restrictions. The priority is to open, first of all, the tourist regions: Krasnodar Territory, the North Caucasus and Crimea.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that due to the pandemic and the closure of the borders of many countries, there is a huge potential for the development of domestic tourism. The immediate plans of the Russian government are: the development of new tourist offers for the domestic consumer, the introduction of new safety rules for tourists after the pandemic and the preservation of the attractiveness of the tourist product.

It should be noted that domestic tourism in Russia, as in most countries, suffered a significant loss. In this regard, the country's government included it in the list of the most affected sectors of the economy that can count on material support from the government.

Chernyshenko expressed hope in the awareness of compatriots and suggested that this year citizens will have massive vacations not in other countries, but within their own country, which will positively affect the development of an "affordable tourist product in the country."

This forced period of "deferred demand" for travel can be spent usefully: study consumer needs and take appropriate changes, prepare for the post-pandemic period, taking into account the introduction of all sanitary and epidemiological rules and preventive measures, perhaps even change the pricing policy, the concept of recreation in order to attract tourists.

Earlier, the politician clarified that the opening of each region will depend on the epidemiological situation in each region. However, according to preliminary government forecasts, an exit from quarantine should be expected in late May - early June.

In early April, the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova, in writing, Chernyshenko said that sales in the tourism industry had dropped to zero, and the lost amount of funds in tourism was 1.5 trillion rubles, and 1.6 million people were threatened with dismissal or leave at their own expense. employed in this industry.

According to Doguzova's forecasts, it will take about 3 years to restore the economy in the tourism sector, and small villages and townships, where tourism is the only source of income, will suffer the most.
