For the third time, the Turkish Ministry of Commerce has adopted amendments to the Rules for drawing up contracts for travel packages. In particular, changes were approved on the return of funds spent for air travel to tourists from Turkey. This became known from the Association of Tour Operators of the country.
This was a salvation for companies that reimbursed tourists for losses due to canceled flights. After all, they immediately transferred money from clients to the account of counterparties, and made the return at their own expense, which led to huge losses.
According to the interlocutor of the TURSAB Association, tourists will be paid the funds spent only 60 days after the ban on flights was lifted. This will be given 14 days. The innovations concern tours that were supposed to take place from February 5, 2021 inclusive.
The issue of refunding money for hotel accommodation and other expenses has not yet been resolved.
