According to the news channel CNN Türk Turkey, the country has established a certification program for hotels planning to resume operations soon. In an interview with the channel, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy said that the program includes 132 parameters of criteria for the safety of hotels.

The rules are established to determine the level of compliance of hotels with standards of hygiene and social distancing. The duties of the hotel staff include a clause on the passage of special training courses on measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. The Minister of Culture and Tourism assured that the buffet in hotels will not be canceled, but will only be abandoned for the duration of the ban on self-service.

In Turkey, the weakening of the restrictive measures imposed in connection with the coronavirus pandemic began:

  • the number of cities that still have a curfew was reduced from 31 to 24;
  • people 65 and older are allowed to go outside;
  • shopping malls opened on May 11;
  • resumed the work of the enterprise in the field of beauty.

Turkey expected to accommodate 58 million guests in 2021. The coronavirus pandemic has made adjustments to these plans. This number of holidaymakers in 2021 will not be achieved. The country's leadership plans to make up for lost opportunities next year and expects 63 million foreign tourists to come to Turkey.
