For the majority of Russians who want to realize themselves in another country, the most promising areas for emigration are the economic "giants" of Europe - Germany, Great Britain and France. We will talk about the main ways of obtaining a residence permit in this country in this material.

Obtaining a residence permit under the "Golden Visa" program

The easiest way to get official status in a given country is to obtain a Golden Visa when buying real estate in Greece. It is not recommended to purchase such real estate on your own - not knowing the local specifics, you run the risk of getting into a mess. Fortunately, there are several companies specializing in the sale of real estate in European countries in the territory of the Russian Federation. The most famous among them is Greece Invest, which has been helping Russians to acquire houses and apartments in Greece for almost 20 years.

When choosing this method, it is worth remembering that a residence permit is guaranteed only in cases where the value of the property is equal to or exceeds 250,000 euros. Also, the "Golden Visa" can be obtained by an investor who has invested at least 400,000 euros in shares of Greek companies, bonds or has made other types of investments in the country's economy. Of course, this method is only suitable for financially secure people.

Other ways to obtain a residence permit in Greece

In addition to buying real estate, there are three more popular ways to obtain a residence permit in this country. Among them:

  • Residence permit for financially independent persons. Greece often provides a residence permit to foreigners whose monthly income exceeds 2 thousand euros. Such a person must stay in the country for at least 6 months a year, but at the same time he is prohibited from working in it;
  • Residence permit for employees. Foreigners who have entered into an employment contract with a particular Greek company are also provided with a residence permit, the duration of which is limited by the duration of the contract;
  • Residence permit for students. Persons enrolled in any of the Greek universities receive a residence permit subject to financial solvency (income is required at least 400 euros per month) and knowledge of one of two languages to choose from - English or Greek.

It is noteworthy that all these methods require permanent or temporary residence in Greece, however, the option with the "Golden Card" does not imply such requirements - a person who received a residence permit through the purchase of real estate is not required to live in the country or pass exams for knowledge of the Greek language.
